And, you have the opportunity to see the unveiling of this original watercolor. Inspired by his grandmother, Daniel has been an artist all of his life. When his grandmother told him that he was an “artist”, that moment changed his life or perhaps clarified it. From that point on, he never had to decide what he wanted to be when he grew up.
A winner of numerous prestigious awards and honors, Daniel won The Ambassador Award from the Astronauts Memorial Foundation, designed the Official Flag for Orange County, Florida, and designed and created the Challenger license plate for Florida which raised over 50 million dollars. He was a founding member of the Open Arts Alliance. Daniel’s artwork has been shown across the United States and in several museums---even traveled around the globe in the space shuttle.
The South Padre Island Birding & Nature Center is honored to have him as our featured artist for the screening of Ghost Bird, the critically acclaimed new environmental documentary from director, Scott Crocker on October 16 from 6:30 to 9:30 at the Center located at 6801 Padre Blvd. Ghost Bird explores the remarkable rediscovery
of the Ivory-billed woodpecker in the swamps of Arkansas, taking a closer look at the role politics, science and culture took in shaping the unprecedented recovery effort.
This event to benefit the Center will include wine and hors'doeurves with live jazz followed by a 7:30 screening of Ghost Bird with an introduction to the film by leading Naturalist, writer and photojournalist Richard Moore. Tickets are $50.00 and are still available, but seating is limited to the first 100 sold. Call 956-243-8179 NOW to purchase. It is interesting to note that Daniel Adams claims to have seen the Ghost Bird himself. Be sure and ask him about that experience.
