Connie Elizabeth Muñoz
Connie Elizabeth Muñoz was born and raised in South Texas. She has achieved a
Bachelor’s of Music in Voice Performance at the University of Texas Rio Grande
Valley. Notable performances of Connie’s include the 3rd lady in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte,
Katisha, Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Mikado, and Juno in Offenbach’s Orpheus in
the Underworld. She has also participated in young artist programs such as Druid City Opera
Workshop in Alabama in the summer of 2013. Mrs. Muñoz received 3rd place
in the Graduate Scenes Division at the 2014 National Opera Association in New
York City, which marked the first time a university from the Rio Grande Valley was
represented at National Opera Association. In 2017, UTRGV’s Bravo Opera Co.
placed 1st for National Opera Association production competition where she is
credited as performer and undergraduate assistant director. Mrs. Muñoz now holds a position
as an El Paseo Arts Foundation board member and music director. Her credits with El Paseo
include Sister Mary Amnesia, in Dan Goggin’s musical Nunsense & Aldonza, in Dale
Wasserman’s Man of La Mancha as well as several plays with El Paseo. Connie is grateful to be
associated with El Paseo Arts Foundation. Her time with the organization has allowed her to
purse her passion of performing and directing while being a caregiver to her son, two
nephews, and her disabled sister. From her position on the board Connie is looking forward to
being able to continue and flourish as a performer with the support of her loving husband, El
Paseo Arts Foundation, and friends.
