Chris Townsend

In 2009, Chris Townsend moved to South Padre Island, Texas. She retired from Texas A&M University (College Station) in 2010, taught part time at Our Lady of the Lake University (La Feria), and retired again in 2017. Full retirement allowed Chris time to enjoy island life, kiteboarding, RV traveling, photography, dabbling in clay art, and other lively pursuits.

Chris obtained B. S. and M.S. degrees from Ohio State University, PhD from Iowa State University. She was a high school horticultural science teacher in Ohio, a Visiting Assistant Professor at Illinois State University, various positions in her 25-year career at Texas A&M University (College Station), and adjunct professor at Our Lady of the Lake University (La Feria).
